Our History

Executive Director Joline Falco created The Nancy Falco Fund and Dancers Unite Against Cancer in 2009 as a labor of love and dedication to her darling mother, Nancy Falco.

In March of 2009, the Falco Family found themselves in the midst of a crisis:  Their loving and energetic mother was facing the unimaginable…cancer. Nancy Falco had been diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. The family struggled to make sense of it all; often asking “why us!” Joline immediately sprang into action. She traveled from her home in Georgia to Florida to care for her ailing mother. This was a very stressful and traumatic time for the family.

To make matters worse, Nancy could no longer work due to her illness. Joline was forced to take a temporary leave of absence from her job in order to care for her mother. Money was tight to say the least, her mothers’ medications along with the frequent flights and drives back and forth to Florida quickly took a toll on Joline’s finances. In an effort to raise money for her mothers’ care, Joline decided to hold a fundraiser.

The end result was a rally of love and support for Nancy Falco. Joline along with the help of her family and friends founded Dancers Unite Against Cancer and the Nancy Falco Fund.
